Snack Time! Popcorn 5 Flavors

I just might have fallen in love with popcorn all over again!!! I don't know why I ever started buying the microwavable popcorn. The other day I was in the grocery store and walked down the snack isle.....I was looking for something I could munch on and not feel guilty doing so. I stopped at the popcorn and started reading the nutritional information and couldn't pronounce half of the ingredients. Then I thought.....I could make this myself and NOT in the microwave! I remember when my mom would make popcorn on the stove with a little oil, no fancy equipment at all and it was SOOOOOOO good! So that's what I decided I would do, grab some popcorn kernels and throw them in a pot to pop up! I'm going back to the good old fashion method. That way I can have whatever flavor popcorn I want. Even better, I can control my portion sizes, although that's quite hard to do. Needless to say, I've pretty much been trying to eat popcorn everyday! At least I'm sharing, my kids LOVE it!

All you do is follow the instructions on the container of kernels. I did about 1/2 tbs of coconut oil and 1/2 tbs of butter in a sauce pan on medium with lid covered but slightly ajar to allow steam to escape. Add a couple of kernels and once popped you will then know the oil/pan is hot enough. Add kernels, I added approximately 1/4 -1/2 cup. Shake the pan every 30 seconds or so to make sure the kernels pop evenly. The entire process usually takes me about 10 minutes and so worth it! I have been experimenting with several flavors but here are my favorites....and the Sweet Chipotle being my absolute F-A-V-O-R-I-T-E!!!!!! For each of these I drizzed a little bit of melted butter before tossing the popcorn in the seasonings to help it stick (with the exception of the Sweet Chipotle).
