Focus. Something that every entrepreneur needs. What I know for sure is that so many things will come along to try and break that committment.
Is it just me or do you find that when you decide to make bold moves there is always something that comes along that tries to step in between you and your vision? At this point I've almost come to expect it. It never fails, the stars begin to align and WHAM! Something major comes along threatening to put a hault in my whole operation. Well now that I see the pattern, I not only anticipate these distractions, I have prepared mentally for them. I don't give those situations too much time to dwell in my mind because when I do, I realize I freeze. The feeling of helplessness is paralizing. I've learned to be a solutions finder.
I hate feeling helpless or hopeless. This is why I am a solutions finder. I believe that no matter what hand you've been dealt, you can always do something about your situation. It might not be so obvious but time spent on finding solutions can only lead to the change you are looking for.
This seems to be the age of self discovery among my friends. Apparently I'm not the only one, everyone has been just been living life on auto through their 20's and 30's and now that forty has hit we're all like....WHAT HAVE I'VE BEEN DOING? I see so many of my friends setting aside their fears to discover what they are passionate about and then going after it. I love it!
Taking such a bold move to shake up my comfort for my passion was and still is the hardest, YET most rewarding thing I could have ever done in my life! I had no idea how many changes would come from scratching that itch. I realize now that my dreams are way bigger than even I could have ever imagined.
I remember one day talking to my best friend about the circle of people I have arround me. If you know me personally than you know that I'm a very private person so my circle is actually quite small. These are the people that I shared my visions of THE GREY BUTTON with. Our discussions always gave me clarity as I talked out my own game plan, and it felt good to be able to "help" with thier personal visions too. I don't know how many hours we spent on "dreaming," our talks always lead to feeling inspired and eager to make bold moves.

But then I took a hard look at my tiny circle, I took note of who was talking and who was doing. I had lots of people around me who had been "talking" for years and not enough doers. All the hours of exploring dreams together and most of them were no closer to those dreams years later. I didn't want that to be my story. And so I said it out loud, "I want a new circle." Not that I no longer wanted to share with my circle, but the conversation changed.
It's funny how you can speak things into existance. Almost immediately after my admission, certain key people came into my llife. I am truly blessed! I literally have a whole new circle and we are pouring into each other all the time. Most of them are also entrepreneurs and we keep each other inspired and accountable. This is an answer to all my prayers!!!!
Are you thinking of finally stepping out to pursue a dream you've always had? What's stopping you? Is it your FOCUS? How much time daily/weekly do you spend on bringing your dreams into fruition? You'd be so surprised at how many people talk about their dreams but don't actually spend any time really mapping out thier thoughts and making real plans. I challenge you to spend at least 30 minutes per day on your passion. Write out goals that you can actually check off. Trust me, doing this lets you see the progress that you are making as you are literally making moves.

Host a Trunk Show
Last year I was blessed to be able to travel with THE GREY BUTTON to several cities and share my work. I enjoyed every bit of it! In 2020 I would love to revisit those same cities as well as visit some new ones. If you would like to host a pop-up shop/bag party in your city, please let me know!
