If you are an entreprenuer than you know life can be pretty hectic and there is never enough time in the day. This is my story! I am busy ALL the time and somehow I manage to keep adding more on my plate and miraculously getting it done!
I say it all the time...I am a bonified WORK-A-HOLIC!!! I literally work all hours of the day and night, most times only stopping to take a nap here and there. Between working production, social media, pictures, trunk shows and family obligations there leaves little time for a social life. Well that used to be my story. At the beginning of 2018 I decided that having personal time to recharge was now going to be a priority. And OH MY GOODNESS now I see how important it is! Once The Grey Button was launched, I spent the first couple of years working extremely hard at creating a product that not only presented well but one that I could be proud of. I had it in my mind that nothing else mattered. Every red cent went into purchasing materials, acquiring new equipment and tools. In my mind there was no room for fun because I was on a mission!
There is nothing wrong with staying focused on achieving the goals I have set, but I now know it is JUST as important to put ME on that list. Boy what a difference a year makes! I went form having absolutely no social life at all to a packed shedule. Before, I didn't think that I had the time to do anything because I always have something to do. It's crazy because not only am I growing my business, but I have been able to take 6 trips this year (BTW, I'll be in California in December....YAY!) participated in more than 7 trunk shows/private party/festivals and managed to make new friends as well as spend quality time with some of my favorite people. Look at GOD!
Speaking of my favorite people........ I just have to share with you one of the beauties I have met this year and have instantly formed a friendship with. I've mentioned her before when I announced one of the trunk shows we held at her wine shop. Her name is Steffini Bethea and she is also an entreprenuer. We have bonded on so many levels it's almost unreal! She is nothing short of AMAZING!!!! I know I'm always referring to "if you follow me on social media" but in case you don't you've missed all the shout outs that I have given to her for the amount LOVE she shows me! I mean e-v-e-r-y SINGLE time I'm in her presence she is praising my work! To be honest....it's almost unbelievable... except I've had so many people confirm what I have witnessed...so I know the admiration it's geniune! In the short amount of time that I've known her she has already purchased 4 bags of her own!
Now lets talk about Steffini love of wine! I am new to the world of good wine and with her help I am learning so much and I've already purchased several bottles of wine to start off my own collection! Steffini is so knowledgeable and it shows in the way she passionately speaks on the subject. I have been able to sit back and observe her interact with her clients at the many events I've attended in these short months and her enthusiasm for her products and business is immeasurable! Similar to me and the world of leather/fashion, she has an eagerness to learn everything there is to know about wine! It's one of the many qualities that has attracted me to her. I absolutely love to see people about their BUSINESS.....and the fact that she's a black woman entreprenuer, like me, makes me want to hold on to her even tighter! I am SO happy we met and are now friends.
If you've never visited The Purple Corkscrew Wine & Tasting Room you are missing out!!!!! She has an extensive collection of wines, which I'm still learning about, and she has even begun offering craft beers. Call me lame but I get all excited on how beautiful the bottles are, especially the assortment of Rosè bottles! Steffini makes everyone feel so welcomed in her shop that I've often heard of people not wanting to leave....even after closing time. She's so creative with the events that she's put on that I'm sure her competitors are taking notes.
Steffini and I will be collaborating once again for another bag and wine event and I can't wait! Mark your calendars for December 1st! We are still ironing out the specifics so keep your an eye out for the official announcement....you are not going to want to miss out!
