In the Spotlight: Cape

Hey Button Family!

I hope you all have had a good week recovering from the Thanksgiving break, that's if you actually had a break. If you are a workaholic like me then that would mean NO!

determined

Well I have been hard at work to keep up with orders and to not fall behind during the absolute busiest time of the year because I know you all want your bags!!! Even though I'm working extremely long days, so far I am doing pretty good.......although my vendors seem to want to do everything possible to try and get me off schedule. So apparently I am wiping my main supplier out of a specific leather that I use. And that would be the one for the custom stained designs. You all are loving the option of customizing your color/design on your bag so much that we can't keep the leather in stock!!

But I am in the process of finding some new suppliers. Lets just hope that I am successful.....and soon!

inspired

Last week I shared my special project with you all, the dress and cape that I made along with all the accessories. Well, like I said before, I didn't neccessarily make the cape to go with the dress. I mainly wanted to picture them together because I loved the color story that it told along with the barn. So of course I had to highlight the cape on it's own!

I love this cape so much! It is really comfortable and I like the fact that it's versatile. You can dress it up like I did last week or throw it on with a pair of jeans and a t-shirt.

But of course my favorite part of this cape would be the buttons. I found these larger gold buttons at a discount fabric store and I loved the imperfections. Some of them seemed to have tarnished a little but the color was beautiful and so I bought them anyway! I thought they deserved to be paired with a nice welt button hole and that's exactly what I did. FANCY!

There's something that I love so much about capes...... and that's the blanket feel. You see, I am ALWAYS cold so there's something that appeals to me being able to walk around the general blanket with a blanky! LOL!!!

happy

I admire the navy blue that I created but I could also see having it in nice cream......oooooooooh! We'll see how my time goes and if I'll be able to squeeze another one in.

I have had several people to ask about purchasing the cape. Right now it is not for sale, however if enough people are interested I will consider doing a small production run. Let me know if this is something you'd like and I will keep you posted!
