Introducing Food to the blog!

If you are friends of mine on Facebook or follow us on Instagram, you will see that I post A LOT of food. I actually love food just as much as I do fashion! So when I need a break from sketching, cutting and sewing leather and fabrics, I cook! I find that it relaxes me, I love being creative in the kitchen and sharing them with the Button Family online.....but then I feel so guilty when you all ask me for the recipes. Most of the time I don't use a one..... probably because often imagine I'm on an episode of Chopped and just grab whatever I have on hand and go for it!! I clearly enjoy a challenge.... so throw in the fact that I don't eat any processed sugars (only the natural stuff) makes cooking from scratch, with fresh ingredients, and coming up with ways to eat my favorite dishes without all the processed JUNK even more fun! So I have decided to add my food creations to the blog to hopefully inspire you to play in the kitchen too!

Today I am sharing my take on enchiladas. I made two kinds....one with chicken (for him) and the other with zucchini, yellow squash and lentils (for me) with a really dark made from scratch ancho chili enchilada sauce. Mmmmmm-mmmm! Since the kids aren't here this week we get a whole pan each all to ourselves! **GREEDY!!** If you are new to my cooking style...let me fill you in. I pretty much don't measure anything! LOL! I use the "taste it" method to determine how much of something I put in. Maybe I should dub my cooking segment, "Cooking in the Grey". What do you guys think?? I need to figure out a name.... HELP!?!!

--I forgot to take a picture before I dug right in!--

If you missed the last couple of videos on Facebook let me catch you up! Here is the video of homemade Starwberry Jam using only 3 ingredients! It is easy, SUPER delicious and never lasts in our house! As a matter of fact, I often catch my husband eating this strawberry "crack' right out of the jar with nothing on it...ha ha ha! A few of our friends have already made multiple batches of their own and love it just as much as we do. If you have a chance to make it....let me know how yours turns out!

This dish was Chicken with heirloom tomatoes and angel hair pasta. It was so good! I had a long day when I made this meal so I really didn't eat all that much.. But let me tell you how mad I was the next day. So the whole day of working, which was a SUPER LONG DAY, I was thinking about making my leftever plate. I was getting so excited just daydreaming about how good it was going to be. Only to open the refrigerator and find no sign of anything. The kids ate it for breakfast. SO MAD! I made them eat breakfast for dinner!
