I have been working non stop with little to no days off for over a year. But alas I am taking some time to relax and recover so that I can come back motivated and ready to kick things into high gear. I don't know about you but sometimes I will have all these new ideas but then I'm too drained to even begin to work on them. I mean, I can't even focus long enough to THINK about them. It's like I've just been completing tasks on "auto" from day to day. Sometimes it's hard to be creative when I know I have deadlines to meet in production. By the time the actual work day ends, I just want to pass out......not create something new in the workroom! So I am extremely excited to be taking a couple of days off to visit one of my good friend who out of town (where I CAN'T sew) to just relax and take a mental break. I'm ALWAYS working so I hardly get time to chill with friends..... I'm happy to finally be having some girl time! Although I've only been here for a couple of hours and I would be lying if I denied that ALL I've been thinking about is the work I'm missing...... but I know I need this! I'm hoping that I get extremely inspired while I'm here so when I get back I can't get right to it!
How do you balance work and your social life? I know as an entrepreneur, I have pretty much put my social life on the back burner in pursuit of meeting the high expectations I've set for myself. But I am starting to understand the importance of taking some "me" time to energize myself again so I can be more productive. A word of advise: Don't get so caught up in all that you need to do for everyone else that you forget to put yourself on the list!
