Boy has it been a loooooooong week! Especially with all the crazy weather we have all been through. School was pretty much cancelled all week.....Monday-Thursday. But I'd be lying if I said I wasn't happy classes resumed today. I thought they were just going to call it a week. Yes, I'm one of those parents who love for my kids to go to school. I seem to get waaaaaayyyyyy more stuff done around the house and I don't feel so obligated to entertain them with food every five minutes. LOL! But I am so happy to be back to normal!
Because of the weather, I didn't get much sewing done this week either. The wind and rain was so strong and the power would not stay consistent, I felt it was best not to chance things and try to sew during a major storm. The up side to all this is I had to get creative in other areas. I must say, it was refreshing! All of a sudden I feel inspired. My imagination is flowing! You know, when I first started my fashion journey I wanted to design beautful gowns, coats, pants.....you see where I'm going with this? Basically I wanted to be an apparel designer and be creative ALL DAY! I am blessed to have found my way of getting my foot in the door through the accessories I design and craft. But some days I get burnt out basically working production and it doesn't leave me feeling inspired. Instead I'm just tired! Having to give the sewing machine a break this week might have been just what I needed. Time to reflect and let the creative juices flow! I know one thing.....I came out of this week feeling like I actually got clarity on my next moves and stepping into Fall like......whaaaaaatttt!
Because I'm taking FULL advantage of my new mindspace, I actually whipped out a few jewelry samples! Neclaces, earrings, bracelets.....RING! I am trying them out for a little bit before I add them to the online store but in the meantime I would love to hear your thoughts! I am going to push myself real hard this fall to create some AMAZING things....I can't wait to share them with you! What are you going to be working on this season? Let's hold each other accountable!
