So it’s been a week since I’ve been back in Georgia after my two week “vacation” in California. Am I the only one who comes home needing a vacation from being on vacation? Initially this trip was planned to get away from work since it had been a whole two years since I’d taken any time off and it was definitely long overdue. But when my family and then friends from social media realized that I was coming to the west coast, they tasked me with bringing product with me. The next thing you know, it turned into a work trip! I packed an entire BIG suitcase JUST with TGB accessories. This was the first time I’ve travelled with SO many suitcases but, I’m not complaining at all!! It was really nice to connect with people in person for a change rather than just over the internet!
I just have to tell you all about all the LOVE I was getting while in California! So a couple of days into my trip one of our clients found out I was actually in the SAME city as her and she HAD to come see me and get her another GREY BUTTON bag! We first met in person in Huntsville, Alabama when one weekend I was there and decided to do a meet and greet. She was so sweet then and just the same this time when we connected in Highland, California! We were both out and about running errands and such and so we decided to meet in the parking lot of a shopping center where she ended up purchasing THREE BAGS!!!!
I was LITERALLY selling THE GREY BUTTON handbags out of my truck when a random lady snuck behind us to see what in the world we were up to. She said she was driving by when she saw me pulling HANDBAGS out of my trunk…… they caught her eye so she HAD to be nosey and see what we were selling! We explained that I was a designer visiting from Atlanta….and the next thing you know she’s asking me to come to her salon because she really wanted to support and purchase something. She needed to meet her client that was waiting for her at her salon so OF COURSE I was headed there next! Her and her client wound up purchasing bags……but wait!
She called a friend of hers that also owns her own salon to tell her about the accessories I make and so guess where I went next! You know it......on to the next one. I met another amazing entreprenuer and ended up I selling another handbag! God is so good!
WOW!! And would you believe that another Instagram “friend” saw pictures of me in the middle of my SoCal hustle and sent me a message also wanting to meet up. I was making house calls y’all!!! I drove over to her HOUSE and instantly felt like I had met my long lost auntie! OMG, I can’t believe all the LoVE I was catching. The crazy thing is when I got there she went upstairs and came back with a GREY BUTTON bag….she was ALREADY a customer and I didn’t even know it!!!! She is one of only two people with the “tree bark” Leo bag…her husband bought it for her last year! By the end of the day I was definitely exhausted but also extremely thankful!
Unfortunately, the second week I ended up getting sick and was down for a few days. Thank goodness I was with family so they took real good care of me. It was lots of ginger shots, fresh squeezed juice and teas for me the rest of the trip. Somehow I managed to feel a little better in time for my cousin’s “Girls Only” party and she had me set up a GREY BUTTON table so her friends could also support. I'll spare you all those "naughty" pictures!
I had such a good time you guys! Of course I didn’t want to leave…..so I made sure to book my return flight BACK to LA before I left so that way I would know EXACTLY when I was coming back! And I can’t wait! I will be back in May to do it all over again! So if you are in the LA area.....let me know! I would love to meet up with you too!
This trip made me realize how much I've been working and NOT taking time for myself to get out and mingle with the people! More importantly something seemed to click for me......why am I not doing more trunk shows?? It was amazing to be able to talk about my brand IN PERSON! I could be taking this show on the road! LOL!
