Black & White + BIG LABOR DAY SALE!

Things aren't always black and white. That's why I like to consider the many shades of grey in between.

In grade school, my favorite subject was math. Why? Because to me, math is black and white. Follow the formula and you are sure to come up with the answer, that simple. Well in life, it's not always that easy. If only there was an exact formula, that when executed properly, the outcome is guaranteed to be perfect. Wouldn't that be nice? I guess life's journey would be extremely boring if that was the case. I vew life as many shades of grey.

faith

And that's where my faith comes in. I pray, and have faith that God will navigate me through all the grey areas of my life. And believe me, there are too many shades of grey between black and white to count. But I find peace in prayer.

When I was a child, my mother would tell me, "Nadia, you have the gift of prayer." And at first I didn't understand what she meant......don't we all? Can't everyone pray? But I guess what she may have meant is that I have the gift of believing in prayer. And I truly do! I can give so many examples of the MIRACLES God has performed in my life. I want to share just one with you.

prayer

It was the first year of moving to Georgia after making the decision to put my everything into building THE GREY BUTTON. We moved down with no jobs, no place to stay, and no money in our pockets. The only thing we had was our faith and determination. Somehow, with not so good credit, no proof of income, we not only found the perfect space for my dream, but the owners of the property took the chance and rented us, flaws and all. That was ALL GOD! Those first months were quite difficult as the beginning of the month seemed to creep up demanding the rent so fast it felt like it was biweekly. I was making bags, taking pictures and posting them, and while I was making some sales, they were't pouring in as quickly as I had hoped. SOOOOOOO many times we'd be staring at the 30th with absolutely nothing to go towards next month's rent, but GOD always came through. ALWAYS! I never stop praying. Five years later and I am in awe of this journey and how he continues to bless me.

My life may have many grey moments, but there is one thing that is black and white for me, and is my faith and belief in prayer. I also understand that I must do my part first. Before the door can be opened, I must first knock! If I want to find something, I must be looking for it. There is an action I must do first! While I'm asking God for his continuous blessings, I am making sure that I am fulfilling my role in the equation. And that's why I work so hard and I'm so confident about my success. I am an active participant doing the work to make sure I'm in position to walk through the doors that God opens up for me!

blessed

Honestly, I can't think of one prayer that God hasn't answered. Seriously! It may not have been in my timing but He has always answered!

Going out of town always seems to afford me the opportunity to relax and reflect. And that's exactly what I had the chance to do while I spent a week in California recently. Even though one is never really "off" as an entrepreneur, taking a break from the everyday hustle and bustle is not only necessary physically for me, but mentally as well. As I use this time to recharge, I often find myself thinking about my life's journey. I am in awe of all the things that have occured in the past 5 years. Some of my highest highs mixed in with my lowest of lows has ulitmately lead me to a place of gratitude. BLESSED and highly FAVORED! I am anxiously looking forward to what God has up next!!

Are you going through grey moments in your life? Are you doing your share of the work that's needed to come out of those greys? My hope is that you find the same peace that I do in the power of prayer. It's life changing!

This year I would love to revisit those same cities as well as visit some new ones. If you would like to host a pop-up shop/bag party in MARYLAND or Southern CALIFORNIA, please let me know! This is the year of expansion and I'm going to need your help!
