A little Grey Button catch-up....🩶
If you haven’t been keeping up with me online lately, I thought it might be time for a little Grey Button catch-up.
I’ve been creating A LOT.
Bags. Clothes. Photos. Ideas. And in the middle of all of it, I realized I’m also becoming much more intentional about how I want to create The Grey Button going forward.
After 15 years of doing this, I know what I don’t want.
I don’t want to spend my days making hundreds of the exact same bag over and over again.
And I don’t want The Grey Button to become the kind of brand where everything is always available in every color.
I actually want the opposite.

Lately, I’ve been going back through some of my classic Grey Button styles and reintroducing them in small batches using leathers that I really love.
Right now, that’s this beautiful Signature Grey Italian leather.
I choose the leather. I decide which of my classic designs I want to make from it. I make a limited number. And when I’ve used that leather and those pieces are gone, that particular version becomes part of The Grey Button story.
I may make the style again.
I may even work with that color again.
But that bag, in that particular leather, from that particular collection may never exist again.
And I love that.

There was a time when we appreciated things a little differently.
We paid attention to how something was made. We could recognize beautiful construction. We kept certain pieces for years. We repaired them. Passed them down. And sometimes, we actually knew the person who made them.
I think we’ve lost a little bit of that.
And maybe that’s part of what I’m trying to bring back with The Grey Button.
I don't just want to make handbags you buy.
I want to create pieces you collect.
Something from a particular season in my work as a designer. A leather I found. A color I fell in love with. A classic Grey Button design I decided to revisit.
Years from now, somebody may ask you about your bag and you’ll be able to say,
“She doesn’t make this version anymore.”
And THAT is kinda special. 🩶

And while I’ve been figuring out where I want to take the work, something else really exciting has been happening...
The Button family is growing.
I recently kicked off The Grey Button Brand Ambassador Program, and I was genuinely excited by how many people reached out wanting to be part of it.
But I wanted to approach this differently too.
I’m not looking for people to simply post a picture holding a bag and call themselves an ambassador.
I wanted to create a way for people who already support The Grey Button to help introduce the brand to new people and actually earn commission when their influence leads to a sale.
Because if you’re talking about my work, sharing it, wearing it and helping somebody discover The Grey Button, I believe there should be an opportunity for you to benefit from helping the brand grow too.
We’ve already started welcoming our first ambassadors, and I’m excited to see what we build together.
And apparently we needed to get these bags out of the studio too. 😂
The Grey Button recently participated in a fashion show during the 2026 Madison Street Festival, which gave me a chance to see the work where it belongs...
on people. In motion. Being styled. Being experienced.
There’s something completely different about seeing something you've made come down a runway.
Especially when you know what it looked like when it was nothing but leather sitting on your worktable.
Those are the moments that remind me why I still love doing this after 15 years.
And I think all of these things are connected.
The small batches.
The collector pieces.
Getting back to clothing.
The ambassador program.
The fashion show.
The Button Circle.
I’m building The Grey Button into something that feels a little more intimate, a little more exclusive and a lot more connected to the people who genuinely appreciate the work.

So if you haven’t been keeping up with me online lately...
Welcome back. 🖤
You actually picked a pretty good time to check in.
There’s a lot happening over here.
And I’m just getting started with this chapter.
Talk soon, Nadia
