A Little Wild, A Little Luxury: The New Cowhide Collection
New textures, timeless colors, and a new face joining The Grey Button.
Fall has officially entered the chat, and apparently so has my love for all things cozy and luxurious.
I've been having so much fun working with different leathers lately, and this newest collection is bringing a completely different personality to some of my favorite Grey Button classics.
Introducing the Black, White & Brown Hair-on Cowhide Collection.
There's just something about this combination of colors and textures that feels so right for the season.
The richness of the brown, the contrast of the black and white, and that beautiful natural texture of the cowhide. It's giving cozy luxury, but with a little attitude.
And the best part? These colors aren't going anywhere. Black, white, and brown have always been wardrobe staples, so while this collection feels perfect for fall, these are pieces you'll be able to style for seasons and years to come.
Every Bag Has Its Own Personality
One of my favorite things about working with natural hair-on cowhide is seeing how the markings come together.
I can cut the exact same bag pattern twice, but the placement of the colors and spots will be completely different.
It's almost like getting a little surprise every time I finish one.
So even if someone else collects the same style from this collection, their bag won't look exactly like yours. And I think that's pretty special.
The One That Got Away...
Something interesting has been happening lately.
I'm still getting messages from people asking about bags from my previous collections. Particular styles, colors, and leathers that caught their eye....especially the Green Metallic Cowhide!
And I think it's finally starting to click that there's only a small window to collect a piece from each Grey Button collection.
I've talked about my small-batch approach before, so I won't give y'all that entire speech again.
But there's something really special about watching these collections become little chapters in The Grey Button's history.
That bag you fell in love with a few months ago? Someone may already be carrying one of the last versions I'll ever make in that leather.
And now, with this new cowhide collection, we're creating another chapter.
And once that chapter closes, we move on to the next.
A New Face for The Grey Button!
Now, I couldn't introduce all this beautiful cowhide without getting it in front of the camera.
And this time, I had a little company!
I recently welcomed Jelicia, one of my newest Brand Ambassadors, and we got together for her very first Grey Button brand photoshoot!
One of the things I've been looking forward to with the ambassador program is seeing how other women interpret my designs through their own personal style.
Because I can spend all day in the studio imagining how a bag should look, but it's exciting handing it to someone else and seeing what THEY do with it.
For our first shoot, we brought out the new Black, White & Brown Cowhide Collection, and I loved seeing these pieces come to life.
The styling, the texture, the personality...everything came together beautifully.
And for me, that's one of the most rewarding parts of being a designer.
Watching something that started as a piece of leather on my cutting table become part of someone's personal style.
I'm excited to have her representing The Grey Button, and I can't wait to share more of what we're working on together.
So, What's Next?
Well, if you've been following along, you already know I don't stay in one creative place for too long. 😂
I'm enjoying revisiting my classic designs, experimenting with beautiful materials, and watching each new collection develop its own personality.
But I'm also enjoying seeing more people embrace the idea of collecting The Grey Button.
Not just finding a bag they love, but recognizing that they're getting something from a particular moment in my creative journey.
And with this newest cowhide collection, there's a whole lot to love.
