Hello Button Family! I am so excited to share this big news. You all have been supporting The Grey Button for over 10 years now and for that I am extremely thankful! This post is going to be longer than usual because I have LOTS to fill you in on!
As many of you may know, I have been working out of the basement of my house for the past seven years…….7 YEARS- I know, right!!! It’s almost hard to believe that it‘s been that long! But during that time I was able to build a brand and these hands have made thousands of pieces for you, my loyal supporters. I say it all the time, I am truly blessed to be able to do what I love and I don’t for one minute take it for granted! However, don’t think for a moment it hasn’t been one of the hardest things I’ve ever done in my life. During these seven years I have had changes within my family, friendships to shift and even financial shakeups that has had me on my knees in heavy prayer. I have sacrificed so much of myself to follow this dream, spending the majority of the years working in isolation….and more often than not opting out of having a social life, acquiring material things I may have wanted or even allowing for a true “vacation”, all so that I could pour every resource into my business. I have been nothing but FOCUSED!
Last year I starting speaking out loud my goals for the next phase of my brand. “I’m ready to move from up out of the basement and into a space that would allow me to finally build a team! I want to be closer to my support system because I feel isolated in Georgia. I want to be part of a community, outside of social media, to network and share ideas with. I want to pour into others the way people have poured into me.” And although I can admit that there were some things I didn’t immediately move on to make it happen, God heard me. And wouldn’t you know, He responded by blessing the small steps I did take. He sure did give me the push I needed to get the ball rolling as my landlord recently told me he would be preparing to sell the house at the end of my lease in a little more than three months. God was beginning to open doors for me to walk through that would get me to my goals.
I am happy to say that all the things I spoke out loud are becoming my reality! I never thought in a million years that I would be excited to move back to HUNTSVILLE, ALABAMA…..but I really am!!! Only 3.5 hours from Atlanta, Huntsville is booming with so many opportunities and quickly becoming one of the fastest growing cities in the Southeast. What’s even more exciting is that I will be moving into a commercial space that will allow me to FINALLY truly scale my business. I’M GETTING OUT OF THE BASEMENT!! This is a BIG venture for me, and I wouldn’t be telling truth if I said I wasn’t scared out of my mind….but the way God has things falling into place, I know this is where I’m supposed to be. I have decided to continue to trust Him as I always have and confidently step into this next chapter…..which is happening in the next couple of weeks, eeeek!!
I still have a lot to do with packing up an entire house AND my work studio equipment… then transporting to Alabama, as well as transferring my company to do business in a new state, so please keep me in your prayers that everything goes smoothly. My Button Family has supported me through this entire journey and I hope you will step into this next chapter with me as well. I will need your continued support as I make this transition.
